In February of 2012, I was able to take an entire month and work on a series of stories tackling bullying. It was an incredible assignment, and I learned so much in the process. I also got a chance to reflect on my own experience being bullied, and write about how I made it through it all. I have never received so much feedback on a story, all of it overwhelmingly positive.

During the course of my reporting on these stories, I encountered a lot of people who were unwilling to speak on the record about bullying. I was disappointed in their refusal to comment on an issue that is not only happening in every school world-wide, but an issue that has been thrust into the spotlight due to the unfortunate suicides of youth. Not talking about bullying is the number one way to ensure it never stops.

Besides that, it was a great experience and one I hope to do again with another topic.
